1. Information we collect
When you register, apply for a role, contact us or place an order, we collect: name, email, phone, college/organisation, profile details, shipping/billing address, and — for orders — the transaction context (order number, items, amount). We also collect anonymous usage analytics such as pages visited, referrer and device type.
2. Payment & transaction data
We use Razorpay as our payment gateway. Card / UPI / bank credentials are entered directly on Razorpay's PCI-DSS-compliant surface and are never stored on our servers. We only retain the Razorpay order ID, payment ID and settlement status for reconciliation and invoicing. If you opt to save a card, Razorpay tokenises it and returns an opaque token — the raw card data still does not touch our systems.
3. How we use the data
Data is used strictly to: provide services (events, jobs, mentorship, Shop Projects), process and deliver orders, send transactional emails (order confirmed, order delivered), generate GST-compliant invoices, and improve platform quality. We never sell personal data to third parties.
4. Cookies & sessions
We use first-party session cookies to keep you signed in, remember cart items and prevent CSRF attacks. Anonymous analytics may use similar cookies. You may block them via your browser at any time — the shop and community features may then require re-authentication more often.
5. Data sharing
We share only what's operationally necessary: (a) shipping address with delivery couriers to physically deliver your order, (b) transaction metadata with Razorpay for payment processing, (c) statutory data with tax authorities if legally compelled. No marketing lists are ever sold.
6. Your rights
You can request access, correction, export or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to help@campushype.in. We respond within 30 days. Some records (invoices, order history) may be retained under statutory requirements even after account deletion.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, sessions use CSRF tokens, uploads are re-encoded server-side to strip embedded payloads, and admin actions are logged with IP + user-agent. No system is 100% impregnable — please use a strong password and enable 2FA in your profile.
8. Children
Campus Hype is intended for users 16 and older. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 16 without consent we will delete it promptly.
